Being a podcaster can be a lonely life. So what better way to begin the holiday celebrations than getting some of your favorite MSers together to talk about our plans for the season?
Alongside my guests, we talk about some of the things that can play on our minds during this time of year, particularly when combined with having a chronic illness like MS.

Dan & Jennifer Digmann talk about how to handle the stresses of maintaining relationships. Ardra Shephard is here to talk about staying fashionable and feeling good about yourself. Then Kathy Chester covers the different ways that you can maintain your fitness and movement schedule, while Alene Brennan talks about the essential stuff – food choices and cooking!

Finally, we all share some of our favorite holiday recipes – link provided below.

Topics covered in this episode include:

  • Tools for handling challenging relationships at this time of year
  • How to look our best when we’re tired, cog-foggy, and stressed? And why should we care?
  • How to find the time and motivation to keep moving and exercising
  • Tips on how to enjoy holiday food without regret – and making yourself feel worse
  • Our favorite holiday food memories and recipes

  1. Love the podcast ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🎁
    You are all awesome!!!!!
Ardra: I agree with waiting past Nov 11 to transition decorations to Christmas, candy cane ice cream, and wine to manage holidays
    Thanks xo

  2. This was a very enjoyable discussion among a group of a like minded friends! Thank you so much for inviting me. Some of the useful snippets I got were

at 10:40 “there is a research that show that people who decorate (for xmas) in November are happier.” And they decide that you need to wait until after November 11 (which is Remembrance Day in Canada) to decorate.

at 20:42 “…I think the way we style ourselves, the way we present ourselves, is an opportunity for us to express our identities…it’s harder to feel sorry for someone who is covered in sequins or glitter.”

at 24:55 She does bounce breaks: has a playlist and a few times a day for the length of just one song she bounces (because she has very limited mobility she thinks of it like what babies do when they are learning to walk. )

“I read somewhere that our taste buds fatigue after four bites.” Maybe the more variety you have on your plate, the less satisfied you will be.

It was so much fun to hear everybody’s thoughts. I would love to continue to touch base regularly with this Pod Squad.
